Personal Introduction
I am a Developmental Neurobiologist studying the underlying mechanisms of pain and touch sensation. As a first-gen college student, mother, and “disabled” person, I am quite familiar with institutional barriers that historically (and presently!) exclude or discourage marginalized groups from career advancement in STEM/academia. I am driven to make higher education and biomedical research actively accessible and inclusive to all, and I am dedicated to improving scientific relations with the general public. I am inspired by SolvingFor’s mission and thrilled to be a part of this essential movement!
