I am a professor, scientist, mom, wife and science communicator. I do a lot of public science communication on Instagram under the account @sciencewhizliz. This work has shown me that most scientists have siloed themselves, which has made it hard for the public to interact with, know what information to trust and understand the importance of science. I love the mission of SolvingFor and believe that we need to change the culture of science in many ways. We need to make it more inclusive to people from a variety of backgrounds and we need to break down the barriers that exist between scientists and the general public.
