I look after community stuff at Crossref, whose primary aim is to expose all the information about research activity openly and transparently for re-use, incl. provenance info, which can help with goals like credit attribution, evidence, etc. So far we have 160 million records that include research grants, articles, preprints, books, conference papers, datasets, software, images, etc. And growing... We follow the Principles of Open Infrastructure so that the community has some insurance (e.g. can fork our systems if needed) and some assurance (e.g. that we have some key sustainability commitments). I'd love to explore more the roles of various stakeholders and in particular funders and research institution leadership.
