Personal Introduction
John Chang is a Professor of Medicine at the University of California San Diego. He received his B.S. degree in Biological Sciences from Stanford University. During medical school at Temple University School of Medicine, he pursued immunology training with Dr. Ethan Shevach as a National Institutes of Health-Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Scholar. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology, both at the University of Pennsylvania. He undertook postdoctoral immunology research training in the laboratory of Dr. Steven Reiner at the University of Pennsylvania. The overall goal of his research program at UCSD is to make fundamental discoveries in CD8 T cell immunobiology that have the potential to result in new insights for human health.
