Personal Introduction
I am a professor of neurology at UCSF, seeing patients and running a laboratory that studies brain development and neuroinflammatory diseases. I am also the director of the Neuroscience PhD program at UCSF since 2020 and thus have significant involvement in the organization and running of that program. I am also a member of a group of folks at UCSF that put together the PROPEL program to diversify the pool of post-bac trainees to UCSF in the hopes of providing meaningful research experiences to trainees from traditionally underrepresented demographic groups in science.
