Our Theory of Change

The capacity of the SolvingFor Process (Challenges → Ideas → Idea Engines → Campaigns) to make change is fueled by an engaged, inclusive, and growing community—one that is both proud of and ready to make noise about the work that it does, and ready to listen to unfamiliar areas of expertise, embrace learning from both our successes and our failures, and to expand our reach to new and diverse networks. A key concept that underlies all of this is for us to nucleate a community that is spread widely across geographic space, disciplines, perspectives, and experience. While these distances are often a limiting factor, we aim to harness them with collective strength. SolvingFor is a Distributed Community of Action, using platforms and fostering personal connections to unite our Members. In short, we will help ourselves combine forces and gain the kind of momentum and social capital that is needed to push push push to implement change.
